Location

Insterburg is in the part of Karlsruhe called Waldstadt. It´s about 5 km in the north of the city centre, in the midst of the Hardtwald.

Good air, silence and the possibility to do jogging in the wood (for example you can use the keep-fit trail). It also should be mentioned the nearness to the Wildparkstadion (5 minutes by bike).

From the hostel till the city centre you need 12 minutes by bike. The bus station is directly in front of the hostel. The bus needs about 8 minutes to ´Durlacher Tor´ and stops directly in front of the university. The tram needs 10 minutes from ´Waldstadt-Zentrum´ till the city centre and also drives in the night and on weekends.

The university is 4 km away from the hostel, FH and PH 5 km. All important stores (butcher, bakery, supermarket, bank, pizza-service) are 2 minutes away by foot. Advantageously is the short distance to the lakes (2 till 10 km) and to the biggest swimming-pool in Karlsruhe. It´s called Fächerbad (1 km).



Description of the way

If you come from the motor-way merging point Karlsruhe turn off at the exit "Durlach" and head for "Karlsruhe-city". At the Durlacher Tor turn right on the Adenauerring (always in direction Stadion/ Waldstadt). Pass the Wildparkstadion and turn right on the Theodor-Heuss-Allee and then right in the Insterburger Straße. Directly the first house on the right side is an greenly house – Insterburg.

With means of public transport coming from rail central station with the tram drive till Durlacher Tor and then take the bus line 30 till the bus stop "Schneidemühler Straße".
